My Solvang Trip + EOTD

Solvang is a city in California that was founded by Danish educators in 1911. I visited Solvang for the first time with my family when I was in 8th grade, and when I went there again this past weekend, it was just as cute and fun as I had remembered. Gray and Gold EOTD

I used a gray matte eyeshadow in this Eye of the Day (EOTD) called "Copperplate". This MAC eyeshadow is a great buildable shade -- you can apply it lightly on your outer V and crease to create a nice daytime look, and then add more to your outer V to quickly make your look more dramatic for nighttime. Vintage Makeup Look

I call this a "vintage" look, because of the neutral eyes and bold red lips. I wasn't focusing on a particular decade (there are different characteristics that define each decade, such as the cupid bow Betty Boop lips from the 1920s). This is more of just an everyday classic look. Read more...

This Hello Kitty Tote Bag is so cute! I got it at a store called Pink Stripes at Santana Row in San Jose, CA. The bag is made by Loungefly (they have a lot of adorable purses, wallets, and more!). It's lined with cute Hello Kitty Bow prints. There are three pockets: one large zippered pocket, a cell phone pocket (which fits my Google Nexus One perfectly), and a medium-sized open pocket (where I store my lipsticks). Read more...
