Before and After Makeover: Ivelina

Ivelina has been one of my avid readers and has contributed some great posts to this site (Fan Look: Drugstore Peacock Makeup and Fashion Friday: Episode 20). She contacted me to let me know that she’s visiting here in California now and is hoping to eventually move here from Pennsylvania. We hung out, and I also gave her a makeover. :)

Brief Bio: Ivelina is a recent graduate from American University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Finance and Accounting. She finished her degree in only three years! She loves numbers, pretty shoes, and is now a big fan of makeup after finding Nerdy Girl Makeup!

When we were discussing what kind of makeup she would like in her makeover, she told me that she wanted to try something she didn’t think she could pull off — like some of the bright looks that she’s seen on my site. I also found out she hasn’t tried dramatic eyeliner and bright lipstick as well. Since she was wearing a cute bright pink dress, I came up with this vivid pink look, incorporating all the things she mentioned that she always wanted to try!

Ivelina also mentioned that she’s always used liquid foundation, so to change things up I customized a cream foundation that matches her skin tone for her to try out. Cream foundation is a bit thicker than liquid foundation, but it provides more coverage. I also airbrushed blush on her cheeks, so that she could also see how it’s like to be airbrushed!

Makeup is so much fun, and I love how it can transform people by bringing out their features and making them feel even more beautiful and confident! I definitely recommend everyone to try something out of their norm — you’ll be surprised at what you think you couldn’t pull off!

If you want to play with colors but don’t want to invest in too many individual eyeshadow colors, the Coastal Scents 88 pallets are great for giving you a wide variety of quality colors at a very affordable price (for beginners, I suggest the 88 Ultra Shimmer palette since they’re a bit easier to use than the matte one). Ivelina just purchased one, and she is now telling me about all the new bright looks she is trying out from my site!
