New reader Emily sent me an email saying that she recently found Nerdy Girl Makeup, and she is now obsessed with it! (Aww, thanks Emily! :)) She came up with this colorful look using the CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4 Kit Shadow in “Tropical Fusion” — a great product to have if you want to add some colorful shades to your makeup collection without having to spend too much money.
MAC lipsticks come in a variety of finishes (such as Frost, Glaze, Lustre, etc.), but now there’s a new type — Dazzle! Dazzle lipsticks are packed with shimmery glitter, with shades that range from sheer to medium color coverage. These lipsticks are limited edition and are part of the MAC Digi-Dazzle Collection. If you’re a glitter fan or if you want to go for the “wow factor” on your lips, then you should definitely check these out!
This EOTD (Eye of the Day) breaks down how to create this colorful look. Yellow, orange, and pink are the main colors I used on my lower lid. In terms of color theory, these three colors are analogous (shades, tints, or tones of colors that lie adjacent to each other on the color wheel). Using analogous colors next to each other in your makeup looks makes blending a lot easier!
I like buying jackets that I can wear for more than one season. Here are two new “multi-season” jackets I got from Anthropologie. I’ll be wearing “Boucle De Souffle” jacket for the rest of summer and into fall and “Barbette Coat” during fall and throughout winter.
This is a colorful summer look that you can wear the whole day. I didn’t use any eye liner here; instead, I placed eye shadow (pigment) color along the outer to middle upper lash line. This creates the look of eye liner from afar, and it has a much softer look while adding more color as well.
