There are a lot of people who use glitter on their eye area, even though glitter is usually not recommended when worn on or near the eyes. I wanted to share with you how I add glitter to my looks that I’ve found to be safe for me. For this look, I used MAC Pro Glitter in “Gold” (although note that MAC’s packaging states that glitter should be kept entirely clear from your eye area).
After applying all of my eyeshadow, I add glitter securely to my lid by first placing some MAC Pro Eyeliner Mixing Medium on my pointer finger and dabbing it lightly on my lid. Then I pick up some glitter with my ring finger and apply it on top of the mixing medium on my lid. The MAC Pro Eyeliner Mixing Medium holds the glitter in place very well and it dries quickly, so it doesn’t take long to add some last minute sparkle to your look!

A great alternative to applying loose glitter with MAC Pro Eyeliner Miixing Medium is to use one of the Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter products — either the glitter eyeliner or glitter gel. If you use the glitter eyeliner, just brush some glitter on top of your lid. If you use the glitter gel, apply a small amount to your ring finger and lightly pat the gel where desired — make sure you do a thin layer so that it can dry faster and avoid creasing your eyeshadow.
