Rilakkuma Mini Speaker

I got this Rilakkuma Nuigurumi Mini Speaker at Maido, one of my favorite stationary stores (Maido stores are located in California and New York). Rilakkuma is the name of a popular Japanese character by San-X. The name “Rilakkuma” is a combination of the Japanese pronunciation of “relax” and “bear”, so this character is often depicted sleeping, eating, reading, listening to music, and doing anything that’s relaxing! The bear shown here is actually Rilakkuma’s friend, Korilakkuma (a female white bear):

This mini speaker also comes in Rilakkuma (a male brown bear) and Kiiroitori (a yellow chick that’s depicted as hardworking and always cleaning, unlike the bears :) ). Each mini speaker is $31.10. Here’s how it looks like from the front and back (with the audio plug tucked in its back pocket):

The audio plug is the standard 3.5mm plug that works with most audio devices, like the iPod Touch I’m using here:

Although my iPod Touch 3G has an internal speaker, I like how the music sounds better through the bear (some songs and game sound effects result in a crackling sound on my iPod’s internal speaker, but not when I use the bear). This mini speaker is great to have in my purse since it is extremely lightweight, can be used with my phone as well (I have a Droid X that has a radio app), and is super cute!
