This makeup look was inspired by the white snow and gray skies of winter that I rarely get to see (here in California). Last February, I rented a cabin with some friends to spend a weekend playing in the snow. The scenic picture below was taken by my multi-talented friend Winnie who captured a moment in time when I took a break from building a snowman with Greg to make a snow angel. I had no idea she was taking pictures of us — otherwise I would have been too shy to do it, but I love how the picture turned out.
I incorporated the white and gray colors of this picture in today’s makeup look.

EYES
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance (to prime lid)
- Inglot E/S AMC Shine in “35″ (pack on entire lower lid with a dense eye shadow brush; also apply along entire lower lash line and lightly apply as highlight)
- MAC E/S in “Knight Divine” (outer V; blend along outer half of crease)
- MAC E/S in “Electra” (apply lightly with a fluffy brush along inner half of crease)
- Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel in “77″ (upper lash line)
- MAC Eye Kohl in “Smolder” (lower waterline)
- Maybelline The Falsies Volum’Express Waterproof Mascara in “Very Black” (two coats on top and one coat on bottom lashes)
LIPS
- Barry M Lip Paint in “53 Coral”

To keep the focus on the eye shadow, I did not use any blush on my cheeks. Any brighter lip color would shift the focus away from the eyes as well, so I used a coral lipstick that’s pretty close to my natural lip color.

I love this look!! so perfect for the xmas season!!
Thanks Amanda! Let me know if you try it out!
What a pretty look! Thanks a lot!
You look asian. How did you manage to get blue eyes?
Thanks Lori! I wear contacts
I’ve been wearing the same color since I started wearing prescription contacts in high school, so it’s almost as if it is my real eye color hahaha
Hey Wycee:
I love that scenary. Great shot! This look is very pretty for us snow havers. Lol. I wanted to tell you… with my christmas money I made my first order of MAC makeup. I am so excited. I got the 188 brush, follow your fantasy e/s from the holiday collection, and the MAC glamorous minerlize kit. When I receive my order I’ll be sure to let you know my thoughts and maybe send photos!
Hi Jesi! The MAC 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush is great for applying foundation (it’s what I use it for mainly, as you can see in my liquid foundation tutorial). You can also use it to apply blush as well. I read your request about the MAC Glamorous Mineralize Kit, but unfortunately I don’t have that kit. The Indianwood Paint Pot that it comes with though is beautiful. Please do send me pictures and let me know how you like it!
Hi Wycee
I just discovered your blog. I love it! I was wondering if you could tell me what brand of contacts you use. I love the color
love the perfecto
Thanks Natachasteven!
