  • Smokey Purple and Black Look - February 28th, 2011
  • This makeup look shows how you can easily add another color to transform the classic black smokey eye. I applied a purple color on the outer V and crease to frame the black on the lid. I also put some purple glitter along the lower lash line for fun. :) For the rest of my makeup, I stuck to contouring and highlighting (no blush) and wore a nude lip to keep the focus on my eyes.

  • Fashion Friday: Episode 53 - February 25th, 2011
  • I’ve been on the hunt for a one-shoulder long sleeved dress. I came across this Tiled Dance Floor Dress on ModCloth.com, and I ordered it because it looked like it would be fun to wear for a night out. The dress has a cute navy blue, periwinkle purple, olive green, and white floral print, and it can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with a pair of tights and boots.

  • Computer Engineer Barbie! - February 23rd, 2011
  • Barbie has come a long way since her debut in 1959. With over a hundred career choices, she’s been everything from a rock star to a paleontologist. Computer Engineer is the first Barbie career chosen by online voting. What I like most about Computer Engineer Barbie is what she represents — that nerdy girls can combine femininity with their ability to excel in math, science, and engineering… very much like my motivation for creating Nerdy Girl Makeup. :D

  • Cyan and Dark Blue Look - February 21st, 2011
  • This is a smokey dark blue makeup look with a touch of cyan on the lid. This is my first look using MAC Pro Pigment in “Hi-Def Cyan”. Since these are two different shades of the same color (blue), blending the two is a cinch! I wore this makeup to match my navy blue dress (with splashes of cyan) that I wrote about in a previous Fashion Friday.

  • Fashion Friday: Episode 52 - February 18th, 2011
  • ASICS, an athletic footwear company founded in Japan, combined sneakers and boots to create these Onitsuka Tiger Snow Eden shoes! This sneaker boot is based on the Sunotore snowshoe that was developed for the successful Japanese racing ski team in 1972. These boots are so comfortable and cute — an interesting twist to casual boots!
