When I go out and need to put my purse down, the germaphobe in me doesn’t allow my purse to ever touch the ground. I usually hang my purse on the chair I’m sitting on, but not all chairs have something for a purse to hang securely. I started looking for a purse hook, so that I could sit on any type of chair without worrying that my purse would fall down. I came across this Nerdy Bird Purse Hook by a local artist who creates items inspired from her comic series called Bumperboy. I saw this purse hook while I was at last year’s Maker Faire, but it was sold out! My fiancé (boyfriend at the time) ended up ordering one for me online, and surprised me with it along with a new purse for our four year anniversary. <3

This Nerdy Bird folds out to a hook. There are two tiny magnets that help the hook stay in place when stored. It’s nice and compact, only taking up 1.75″ of space in my purse. The bottom has rubber to prevent the hook from slipping off a table. And that’s not all — this purse hook can hold up to 20 pounds!

My desk (shown in the pictures below) is 2″ thick and is much thicker than most tables I come across when I go out. These pictures above show how nicely this purse hook hangs purses of different sizes. The purse on the left is a Louis Vuitton “Patti” Monogram Multicolore in color “Blanc”. I got this as a present for my birthday back in December. It’s a much smaller version of the Louis Vuitton “Annie GM” Monogram Multicolore in color “Noir” (shown on the right) that I wrote about in my Fashion Friday post about my Paris trip and engagement last November. This black purse gets pretty heavy at times, but this purse hook is really sturdy!

This hook also comes with a black velvet pouch to store it in. The pouch comes in handy, since I normally reach in my purse and just feel around for the velvet pouch when I want to take it out (rather than actually looking for it).
