Essie French Affair Nail Polish

Essie released a collection called “French Affair” for Spring 2011. This collection has 6 new nail polish shades in retro pastels as well as neutrals, all inspired by French glamour.

Sticking with the pastel theme of my last makeup look, I wanted to try out one of the pastel shades called “French Affair”. This color is a very retro 1960s pale pink with a cool undertone, and the formula is creamy and dries to a glossy finish. After applying two thick coats, my nails were completely opaque.

My only complaint is that I don’t like such small nail polish brushes in general (click to enlarge the picture below). Essie’s smaller brushes are convenient for those with smaller nails, but for me it just means I have to do more swipes to cover my nails. I really like the thick Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish brushes that are flat and much wider.

I got this “French Affair” polish at my local drugstore for $8.29. I really like how this color looks — it’s pastel without looking chalky or streaky, and it looks very romantic! :)
