I was inspired to do this makeup look from a comment left by one of my readers who thinks blues and greens look weird on her. Monica, this one’s for you!
I came up with this eye shadow look that combines both blue and green in a subtle way so that it’s not too overpowering yet can still make a bold statement. A few years ago, I didn’t wear much blue or green eye shadow either, but now I love incorporating them in my makeup! I think it’s just a matter of getting used to wearing and seeing yourself in different colors. I found it helpful to start with adding a little blue or green somewhere in your makeup look before you start using more of them. This subtle blue and green look is a good transition to using more of these bright colors (and it’s nice for daytime, too!).

Aww thanks, Marina! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying my website!
Wycee,
I found your website through pinterest. I am so glad I found it! I have been looking for a good eye make-up site. I don’t wear MAC but I do have a ton another cosmetics line of eye shadows. Most of them I have not used for fear of the colors, but with your site I am not intimidated by them anymore. Thank you! I did my version of this eye today and I love it! My green was not as bright and my version of the electric eel was more turquoise, but it worked out great. Thanks again for you time you put into this site!
Thanks Kira! I’m so happy to hear that! I’d love to see pictures of colorful looks you come up with sometime.
