Nordstrom is having their Half-Yearly Sale for women and kids going on now through Sunday, June 5! I stopped by my local Nordstrom store on the first day of the sale (Wednesday, May 25th) to look at some shoes. I ended up buying two pairs of heels.

This black mary jane heel with red and white polka dots is from Poetic Licence (originally $98.95; on sale for $65.90). My favorite flat sandal that I wrote about in Fashion Friday: Episode 5 is also by this same shoe line. Poetic Licence consists of less expensive but still colorful and unique shoes by Irregular Choice (a brand of creative, colorful, and comfortable shoes that originated in England that I’ve featured in other Fashion Fridays as well). Its heel height is about 3 inches (8cm). I was drawn to the polka dots and the cute shimmery apples on the straps. The name of this design is actually Apple Pie. It really stands out with a pair of skinny jeans and a solid-colored top!

I also got my first pair of Michael Kors heels. This one is called Shimmer Sandal (originally $149.95; on sale for $99.90), and it’s made of black patent leather with padded leather insole. There’s a silver zipper on the front with an MK logo pull. These shoes are surprisingly comfortable for a 4-inch heel (there’s a slight platform), and they can easily be dressed up or down!
