Fashion Friday: Episode 68

I’ve really been liking polka dot things lately, so I was excited to see this espadrille wedge that’s navy blue with white polka dots. Before coming across these shoes at Macy’s, I wasn’t aware that the beautiful and brainy Ivanka Trump has now ventured into the shoe business as well (she also designs jewelry and handbags). She teamed up with Marc Fisher Footwear to create her line of “stylish yet refined” shoes. This wedge sandal is called “Saffire 2“, and it’s the polka dot version of her “Saffire” design that originally came out in two colors: all white or all metallic gold uppers.

This wedge is 4 1/2 inches tall with a 1 1/2 inch platform, but it’s amazingly comfortable for the height! There isn’t any part of the shoe that hurts my foot, even the straps (they’re made of soft leather). :) There are cute bows on the front, but they have these gold-colored attachments on the ends of the tails that say “Ivanka Trump” on them that I’m not particularly fond of. However, her name isn’t noticeable as long as no one is looking up close at your feet haha!

Ivanka Trump’s “Saffire 2″ retails for $140.00 (I used some Macy’s coupons and ended up getting them for $94.00). I actually visited these shoes on three separate occasions before deciding to try them on and buy them — that’s how I know I really wanted these sandals! FYI, there was another one of her designs that I was interested in trying (“Indico” 2 1/2 inch career pumps that were a little cheaper and looked even more comfortable), but it really hurt my feet. I was surprised how uncomfortable those were, especially with the “Saffire 2″ being much taller. I’m very happy with these polka dot wedges though, and they’ll go with a lot of my summer outfits!

[…] I’m back again with more polka dots! This Great Dot Maxi Dress is from Anthropologie, and I bought it a couple months ago even though I had my eyes on it for much longer, hoping it would go on sale (and it did)! I didn’t get to wear it until last Sunday though, since this maxi dress is a bit long and has a layered slit in the back that my current sewing skills can’t hem at the moment. As a result, I was in search of tall enough shoes that would allow the dress to barely touch the floor and that I could actually walk in (the wedge that did the job perfectly was featured in Fashion Friday: Episode 68). […] addition to polka dot print (which, by the way, I ended up wearing navy and white polka dot wedges with this dress ), I’ve noticed that I’ve also been getting a lot of nautical pieces […]
