Owl Kitchen Timer

Kikkerland is one of my favorite brands when it comes to clever knickknacks and cute items that make everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable. I discovered Kikkerland items a few years ago at a specialty gift shop in my area, and I was hooked ever since! Now you can find Kikkerland products at thousands of stores around the world and online. As I’ve mentioned in previous Nerdy Stuff posts about my amusement with cute kitchen supplies, this adorable Kikkerland Owl Kitchen Timer is my latest find! I saw this Beak the Clock Kitchen Timer on ModCloth.com and added it to my order of dresses and shoes I received last week. :)

I love how the owl’s head slowly turns as its orange beak points to the remaining time… and its wide-eyed look is just too cute! When I took it out of the box, I was actually too excited about it that I didn’t take the time to read the instructions. I thought it was broken, because when I thought I set it for a minute to test the sound, it barely made any noise. Then my fiancé came to the rescue and showed me this side of the box (shown below):

Turns out you have to wind the owl head clockwise to the 60-minute mark, and then turn it counterclockwise to the desired time in order for it to make a loud ringing noise once the wait is through. I was thrilled that it wasn’t broken after all! LOL :) This owl kitchen timer comes in three colors: blue, yellow, or red. Each one is $19.99. This will make such a cute addition to your kitchen or a gift for one of your friends who loves to cook!
