Before and After Makeover: Izzy

I met Izzy during freshman orientation at UC Berkeley a few years ago. Although we didn't have a single class together in college, we stayed good friends ever since! She was heading to Las Vegas for the weekend to attend her friend's wedding, and she asked me if I could show her some makeup looks. I was walking around Macy's last Sunday and came across these cute black pumps. When I first saw these from a few feet away, I was initially drawn to the shorter heel (only 2 1/2 inches). Then when I noticed the bows on the front, I knew I wasn't going home without them! These shoes are great for evening/formal wear as well as the office. This would be a great shoe to try if you're looking for a heel that's not too tall and goes well with a lot of outfits! Read more...
Green, Orange, and Blue Look

For this colorful makeup look, I felt like using a combination of some of my favorite eye shadow brands -- Inglot, Make Up For Ever, and MAC. I wore it with a bright orange lipstick to bring out the little bit of orange I used on my lid. Alternatively, you can wear a nude lip or a lighter coral lip color to keep the focus of all the bright, bold colors only on your eyes. Read more...

Kikkerland is one of my favorite brands when it comes to clever knickknacks and cute items that make everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable. As I've mentioned in previous Nerdy Stuff posts about my amusement with cute kitchen supplies, this adorable Kikkerland Owl Kitchen Timer is my latest find! I saw this Beak the Clock Kitchen Timer on ModCloth.com. I love how the owl's head slowly turns as its orange beak points to the remaining time... and its wide-eyed look is just too cute! Read more...
