You’ll be seeing more clothing and accessories from Free People featured in my Fashion Fridays, since that’s where I’ve been doing all my shopping lately. I liked the Swalesdale Texture Shrug that I wrote about last Friday so much that I ended up getting one in Grey. I wore this gray shrug with a Floral Lace Fit and Flare Dress that’s also from Free People. The dress is gray with lavender lining, and it has long sleeves that are great for cooler fall weather.
This is my first makeup look using the MAC Limited Edition Paint Pot in “Half-Wild” that I just reviewed. I used Half-Wild as a base on my lid to make the Inglot purple eye shadow I applied on top much bolder. I decided to add a light gray color to the purple eye makeup to match a gray and purple dress I was wearing that day, but I also like how the purple stands out even more against the matte gray.
I happened to be at my local MAC when they launched their Fall 2011 collection called Posh Paradise. Although this collection includes 10 Mattene Lipsticks and 2 Nail Lacquers, my eyes went directly to the 8 limited edition Paint Pots! I got this red-based mid-tone purple called “Half-Wild”. I like using paint pots as a base, but they can also be worn alone. To give you an idea of how Half-Wild can transform the color of an eye shadow when used as a base, check out the swatches!
If you want to add something to your wardrobe that embodies the fur trend this fall, this Swalesdale Texture Shrug from Free People is perfect! It is a soft pullover faux fur shrug that’s a perfect accessory to warm up any outfit! I like that I can wear summer tank tops into the fall with this shrug, since it covers my shoulders and upper half of my back. This shrug also instantly adds glamour or funk to your outfit depending on what you wear it with.
Back to MAC (Back2Mac/B2M) is a program at MAC Cosmetics that rewards customers for recycling their empty containers. When you turn in 6 containers that have plastic, you receive either a free lipstick at a MAC counter in a department store or a free lipstick, lip gloss, or single eye shadow at a freestanding MAC store. Here are some examples of items you can bring in as well as pictures of what I traded and got for free!
