This is a fall-friendly outfit I put together after two separate shopping trips to Free People. I first picked up this Long Reversible Fur Vest ($168.00), because I loved the fact that it can be worn two ways and it’s such a unique piece that can be layered on top of many outfits. This maxi vest has a floral-printed side with gold details and faux-fur lining that you can also wear inside out. There are also three sturdy metal hook closures down the front center area that keeps the vest closed whichever way you wear it.

Here’s how the vest looks like when I reverse it so the lining is on the outside. The faux fur side is really soft, and I was pleased to discover that this side has pockets to keep my hands warm (as I’m showing in the picture below).
I like the dramatic length of the vest as well. I recommend sizing down though, since it does run a bit big.

I didn’t get a chance to wear this vest by the time I went to Free People again (it was raining a lot last week), so I picked out this Frances Cocoon Dress ($98.00) to wear with it. The dress has stretchy long sleeves with an oversized cowl neck collar that is perfect to wear with this vest while still staying warm (and not needing to layer a jacket to keep my arms warm). This dress comes in two colors — Java and Washed Red. I like this dress so much that I’m considering getting the red one too. This dress can easily be dressed up or down, is warm without feeling heavy, and is super comfortable! I wore it with a pair of brown suede over-the-knee boots by Chinese Laundry that I got a couple years ago to complete my fall outfit.
