  • Mod Makeup Look - October 19th, 2011
  • In this black and white eye shadow look, I extended a triangular shape on the tear duct to change the shape of the eye, giving it a mod/retro look. The white kohl pencil along the lower waterline also makes the eyes appear bigger. This is more of a statement makeup look that you can wear when you feel daring or on Halloween! I watched Black Swan recently, so this makeup might’ve been somewhat inspired by that movie. :)

  • Fall Orange and Brown Makeup Look - October 17th, 2011
  • I used MAC Pigment in “Copper Sparkle” in my Fall Makeup Look from last year, but this time I applied it on top of a much brighter orange to really bring out the color. The resulting burnt orange color stands out a lot more than the orange MAC “Rule” eye shadow I used in the previous look. “Copper Sparkle” is such a gorgeous color — not only is it my go-to pigment every fall season, but it’s also one of my favorite and most used pigments!

  • Fashion Friday: Episode 86 - October 14th, 2011
  • This is a fall-friendly outfit I put together after two separate shopping trips to Free People. I first picked up this Long Reversible Fur Vest, because I loved the fact that it can be worn two ways and can be layered on top of many outfits. This maxi vest has a floral-printed side with gold details and faux-fur lining that you can also wear inside out. I wore it with a Frances Cocoon Dress that’s also from Free People — the long sleeves are perfect to keep my arms warm while wearing this vest!

  • Halloween Makeup Look – Princess Peach - October 12th, 2011
  • Last year my fiancé and I dressed up as Mario and Princess Peach for Halloween in honor of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Princess Peach (originally known as Princess Toadstool) is from the Mushroom Kingdom and is often rescued by Mario (but she saves him too in Super Princess Peach for Nintendo DS — a great game, by the way!). :) We also got a Yoshi backpack and a Star wand. Check out my Princess Peach-inspired makeup look and pictures from Googleween 2010!

  • Mineralize Blue and Brown Look - October 10th, 2011
  • I didn’t buy any of the new Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos that MAC released in May 2011, but I own a few of the previous ones. My favorite of the duos by far is still “Sea and Sky”. Along with a marbleized sky blue color, “Sea and Sky” comes with a gorgeous medium-to-dark blue that has such an intense, rich color. This is the blue featured in this makeup look. The steps are similar to my technique for adding a pop of color to your eye shadow if you want to follow along. :)
