NARS Danmari All About Cheeks Palette

The Danmari All About Cheeks Palette is a great way to try out some of the most popular NARS cheek products. This limited-edition holiday palette comes with 6 cheek powders that include a bronzer, a highlighter, and a nice mix of blush colors (including the famous “Orgasm”, of course). If you already have NARS blushes, this palette could come in handy when you travel!

The pictures below show how the palette is packaged. The black and red gift box has a black foam cut out that keeps the palette in place. You can see how the palette looks closed on the right — it’s essentially a very large NARS compact! When you open it, there’s a mirror that’s a good size for actually using it to apply blush. :)

The palette comes with six 0.12 oz cheek powders. Each color is only 25% less than what you would get with a full-size single blush compact (which comes with 0.16 oz for $27.00). Even though this $65.00 palette may seem a bit pricey at first, you’re getting a total of 0.72 oz of product plus the variety of 6 different permanent shades for the price of ~2.4 full-size blushes (yeah, I did the math in Sephora to justify my purchase :) ). It really is a great deal if you want NARS blushes! Here are the swatches, going from top to bottom, left to right in the palette:

The names and colors of each cheek powder are:

  • Hungry Heart Duo (I) – gold ivory
  • Casino – dark brown with golden shimmer
  • Orgasm – peachy pink with gold shimmer
  • Super Orgasm – peachy pink with gold glitter
  • Desire – cotton candy pink
  • Sin – berry with gold shimmer

The first one listed is the highlighting blush that comes with the NARS Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo in “Hungry Heart”. Casino can be purchased as a single Bronzing Powder ($33.00 for 0.28 oz), and it also comes with Sin in a Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo called “Sin/Casino” ($40.00 for 0.35oz). As you can see, if you buy these individually it can really add up! The only blush that I didn’t *love* is Super Orgasm — it has big chunks of glitter that end up getting everywhere. It’s the same lovely peachy-pink color as Orgasm (my favorite!), so I don’t expect using it as much as the others. To give you an idea of how two of the colors look like, here’s a picture of me wearing Casino (contour) and Orgasm:

The name “Danmari” refers to a pantomime style of the classical Japanese kabuki dance-drama. It’s a creative name for this palette, since makeup plays a very important role in kabuki theater. :) So if this palette can also play an important role in your makeup collection, it’s not too late to add this to your holiday wish list! ;)
