Dramatic Brown Makeup Look
Posted on February 29, 2012 | 9 CommentsAfter getting a lot of use out of my first MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow in "Lie Low" (see some of my makeup looks using it here), I bought another one called "Make Your Mark". Both of these are brown colors -- "Lie Low" is a golden brown, and "Make Your Mark" is a dark chocolate brown. I featured both of them in today's makeup look. I added a little bit of shimmery white eye shadow along my tear ducts for contrast. Read more... -
Essie Nail Lacquer in “Turquiose & Caicos”
Posted on February 28, 2012 | 3 CommentsMint is one of the color trends for Spring 2012. I've been seeing it everywhere... except for my closet. As the hunt continues for something mint to add to my wardrobe, I figured I'd just paint my nails a shade of mint. I bought this Essie Nail Lacquer in "Turquoise & Caicos" last summer, but I had it sitting on my vanity all this time. The color is distinctly green-based so it looks like a dark mint color. I can see myself wearing this nail polish a lot this spring and summer! Read more... -
Fashion Friday: Chanel Ballerinas Quilted Flats
Posted on February 24, 2012 | 7 CommentsI'm not one to splurge a lot on shoes (purses are my weakness), but on my way out of Nordstrom these flats caught my eye. I saw a similar black quilting like my latest purse from a distance, so I had to take a closer look. I immediately fell in love with these but not with the price, so I left them at the store but they never left my mind. After saving up for a while, I got my first pair of high end designer shoes (which I blame on my weakness for purses)! See pictures of my Chanel "Ballerinas"! Read more... -
Gold, Brown, and Teal Makeup Look
Posted on February 22, 2012 | 13 CommentsWhile I was coming up with this eye makeup, I decided to add some teal in an unexpected place. The teal stands out in pictures and in person, especially since the rest of the eye shadows are neutral, but it's still pretty subtle at the same time. I used my new Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in "Siren" -- a beautiful teal with blue shift. I applied it along the outer half of my lower lash line. I added MAC "Electric Eel" on top of it to make the liquid liner look blended out. Read more... -
Bright Purple and Pink Makeup Look
Posted on February 20, 2012 | 8 CommentsAfter picking out an outfit that was all black and white, I decided to wear bright makeup to add some color to my overall look. I turned to the Make Up For Ever purple and pink matte eye shadows to create this vibrant eye makeup. I wore this with a lipstick color that looks like these two eye shadows mixed together -- it's a deep, fuchsia berry called "Rebel" by MAC. Read more...
