Fashion Friday: Chanel Ballerinas Quilted Flats

I’m not one to splurge a lot on shoes (purses are my weakness :) ) — the most I’ve spent on a shoe is just over $300 for a pair of warm boots that have got so much use since day one. With that said, I was on my way out of Nordstrom after buying some makeup when these flats caught my eye. I just saw a similar black quilting like my latest purse from a distance, so I had to take a closer look. I immediately fell in love with these but not with the price tag, so I left them at the store but they never left my mind. With some money saved up from my birthday and the holidays plus a month of not shopping, I caved in and bought my first pair of high end designer shoes (which I still blame on my weakness for purses haha). These are the Chanel “Ballerinas” in black quilted canvas with lambskin cap toe (Nordstrom; $725.00).

These ballerina flats not only match my Classic Flap Bag on the outside with the black quilted design and use of lambskin, but it matches on the inside as well having the same burgundy color as the lining of the purse. I LOVE the shape of the bows that are just above the toe caps! I also like the subtle look of the stitch of Chanel’s signature CC logo on the toe caps. :) These were made in Italy.

The packaging comes with two dust bags (shown in the picture above) to protect and store them (since they are an investment after all). Dust bags come in handy when you’re traveling as well. I keep the Chanel shoe box on display in my closet. :) These are definitely luxury shoes with a luxury price tag, but I know I will get a ton of use out of these unlike some of the bargain shoes I ended up donating because they were just sitting in the back of my closet. I’m thinking about saving up again for another high end shoe, possibly a pair of boots or heels. :D
