After I purchased my first Chanel Illusion d’Ombre eyeshadow in “Mirifique” last January, I was hooked! The sparkle on these eye shadows are so beautiful, and they have very minimal fallout for a product packed with so much shimmer. That’s one of the main reasons why I like these so much — my eyes don’t get irritated even when I apply these intensely shimmery eye shadows along my lash line (I wear contact lenses). As a result, I’ve acquired a few of these Illusion d’Ombre eye shadows over the past few months. I purchased this gold one called “89 Vision” when I was in Europe earlier this month. This particular color is part of the Les Expressions de Chanel Summer 2012 Makeup Collection. Isn’t it just gorgeous?!?
Below is a swatch of Vision that I applied with the small angled brush that comes with each Illusion d’Ombre eye shadow (see my past review for a closeup of the brush). Vision can be worn alone or on top of another eye shadow to add some glamorous sparkle.
Vision is actually my “souvenir” from Germany (I had a layover, so I decided to shop to pass the time). These Illusion d’Ombre eye shadows are on the pricey side at $36.00 each, so it was nice to get this one duty free at the airport. I’ll post a makeup look featuring this sparkly gold eyeshadow soon!
