I wrote about the first pair of shoes I purchased for my wedding back in June — although my heart absolutely loved the Chanel pumps, my head was constantly reminding me that I would have a difficult time dancing, walking, and even just standing in them. So every time I went shopping before the wedding, I still kept my eye out for a different pair of wedding shoes. When I saw these ankle booties at Nordstrom, I just had to try them on.
This Valentino Crystal Embellished Bootie is both remarkably stunning and comfortable. I was drawn to it initially for the angled panel of lace that goes across the bootie that complements all the layers of various lace on my wedding gown. The crystal embellishments on some of the flowers of the lace adds to its elegance. I also liked that the silver color matched my silver jewelery (which reminds me of another reason I was a bit iffy about the Chanel pumps — I thought the black cap toe might be too harsh of a contrast with my ivory gown). The suede upper is covered in tiny crystals that makes the shoe really sparkle!
Best of all, I felt really comfortable wearing these shoes. Part of our wedding photo shoot included going down a steep unpaved hill, and I was able to do it surprisingly easily in these 4-inch heels. I’m so happy that I ended up wearing these for the big day, because I didn’t have to worry about them hurting my feet or sliding off at all — the less you have to think about on your wedding day, the better!
I didn’t even think to consider looking for ankle booties for the wedding, but once I found these I knew they would be a dramatic and romantic alternative to typical bridal pumps/sandals. Photos in this post were taken by Bound By Photography, including this Cinderella-esque shot of me and my husband.
