Light Green and Pink Makeup Look

With the sun shining more often these past few days, I felt like creating this springtime look. Some green peeks out on the lid from the dark brown eye shadow on the outer lid -- this makes me think of the green buds that start to appear on tree branches this time of year. The pink color is the only non-matte eye shadow I used. The shimmer of the pink eye shadow is concentrated just along the crease, giving an interesting yet subtle effect. Read more...
Dramatic Brown Makeup Look

After getting a lot of use out of my first MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow in "Lie Low" (see some of my makeup looks using it here), I bought another one called "Make Your Mark". Both of these are brown colors -- "Lie Low" is a golden brown, and "Make Your Mark" is a dark chocolate brown. I featured both of them in today's makeup look. Gold, Brown, and Teal Makeup Look

While I was coming up with this eye makeup, I decided to add some teal in an unexpected place. The teal stands out in pictures and in person, especially since the rest of the eye shadows are neutral, but it's still pretty subtle at the same time. I used my new Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in "Siren" -- a beautiful teal with blue shift. I applied it along the outer half of my lower lash line. Bright Purple and Pink Makeup Look

After picking out an outfit that was all black and white, I decided to wear bright makeup to add some color to my overall look. I turned to the Make Up For Ever purple and pink matte eye shadows to create this vibrant eye makeup. I wore this with a lipstick color that looks like these two eye shadows mixed together -- it's a deep, fuchsia berry called "Rebel" by MAC. Read more...
Tough as Taupe Makeup Look

This is a great everyday makeup look featuring Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in "35 Tough as Taupe" (see my review). I actually like this as a wedding look as well -- just add some false lashes! :) Tough as Taupe has great staying power. This Color Tattoo doesn't budge or fade, even though my eyes tend to get watery. I don't wear my makeup for 24 hours straight to be able to test Maybelline's claim, but I can happily say that it stays put for as long as I need it to! Read more...
