Orange Crush Makeup Look
Posted on January 26, 2012 | 6 CommentsInstead of the usual pinks and reds this Valentine's Day, try some orange for a change! Orange is in the same warm color family as reds, but it appears much more fresh, fun, and unique -- especially when it comes to eye shadow! This makeup look has a vibrant tangerine orange on the lid that really pops without being overwhelming. The eye makeup actually looks neutral when your eyes are open. This flash of orange only appears when you wink at your crush. ;) Read more... -
Lancôme Glamour Eyes by Michelle Phan + EOTD
Posted on January 24, 2012 | 4 CommentsYouTube makeup guru and Lancôme video makeup artist Michelle Phan put together this Lancôme Glamour Eyes kit that's exclusively sold at Sephora. I had plans to try out the Lancôme Artliner Eyeliner sometime, so I figured I'd just buy this kit since it comes with a full-size Artliner in "Noir" as well as a Color Design All-In-One 5 Shadow and Line Palette called "307 Chic by Chelle" and a travel-size Hypnôse Drama Mascara. Check out my swatches, EOTD, and reasons why I returned it. Read more... -
BFTE Cosmetics + Look
Posted on January 18, 2012 | 4 CommentsI recently had the opportunity to try out several mineral eye shadows from Beauty From The Earth. Crystal, President of BFTE Cosmetics, sent me this 16-piece sample set that comes with a tin case. Each sample comes with 0.5g of product. These samples actually last quite a while if you like to experiment with different color combinations like I do. :) Check out the swatches and a makeup look using 5 of these colors! Read more... -
Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Eye Shadow Palette Look
Posted on January 11, 2012 | 8 CommentsThis makeup look uses 3 of the 6 eye shadows that come in the Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Eye Shadow Palette (see my review here). This palette is sold exclusively at Sephora inside JCPenny stores for $39.00, but each of these eye shadows are permanent and can be purchased individually for $18.00 each. This neutral eye shadow has been a go-to look for me over the busy holidays (I wore it many times with different lipsticks)! Read more... -
Christmas Tree Makeup Look
Posted on December 14, 2011 | 8 CommentsI've been making mix CDs for my mom ever since I got my first CD burner sometime in the 90s. One of my favorites is a Christmas mix that has a song about a lonely Christmas tree. My mom really liked this song after hearing it once on the radio, but she didn't know most of the lyrics. I eventually surprised her with it in my mix CD. This makeup look is inspired by Stevie Wonder's "One Little Christmas Tree" -- it has a little tree standing in the snow lighting up a gray sky with its gold star. :) Read more...
