Maker Faire, the ultimate DIY festival, was here last weekend in the SF Bay Area. This is one of my favorite times of the year — when nerds of all ages come together for an event that encourages learning, being creative, and exploring arts, crafts, engineering, and sciences. Ever since I wrote about getting a Nintendo DSi XL last November, I've been looking for a cute case for it. There are a lot of cases I liked for the smaller Nintendo DS Lite/DSi systems (mainly Hello Kitty ones), but I didn't see any cases big enough to fit the DSi XL that caught my eye. I like collecting cute versions of ordinary things, especially when it's something I can use in the kitchen! I got this Scoops of Flower Measuring Spoons online at ModCloth.com, and it's absolutely adorable! This solid ceramic set comes with a blue and white striped flower pot base and four measuring spoons shaped like flowers. When I go out and need to put my purse down, the germaphobe in me doesn't allow my purse to ever touch the ground. :) I usually hang my purse on the chair I'm sitting on, but not all chairs have something for a purse to hang securely. On my hunt for a cute purse hanger, I came across this Nerdy Bird Purse Hook by a local artist who creates items inspired from her comic series called Bumperboy. Something I like to do once in a while is read a book that makes me laugh out loud to myself, leaving my fiancé or anyone around me wondering what the heck I'm doing. :) I recently read Richard Benson's F in Exams: The Very Best Totally Wrong Test Answers, and I got such a kick out of it.
