Nerdy Bird Purse Hook
Posted on April 6, 2011 | 3 CommentsWhen I go out and need to put my purse down, the germaphobe in me doesn't allow my purse to ever touch the ground. :) I usually hang my purse on the chair I'm sitting on, but not all chairs have something for a purse to hang securely. On my hunt for a cute purse hanger, I came across this Nerdy Bird Purse Hook by a local artist who creates items inspired from her comic series called Bumperboy. This purse hook is nice and compact... and it holds up to 20 pounds! Read more... -
F in Exams: The Very Best Totally Wrong Test Answers
Posted on March 30, 2011 | 2 CommentsSomething I like to do once in a while is read a book that makes me laugh out loud to myself, leaving my fiancé or anyone around me wondering what the heck I'm doing. :) I recently read Richard Benson's F in Exams: The Very Best Totally Wrong Test Answers, and I got such a kick out of it. This book is filled with actual test question responses from students who couldn't answer them correctly and decided to have some fun instead. Here are some of my favorites from the book! Computer Engineer Barbie!
Posted on February 23, 2011 | 2 CommentsBarbie has come a long way since her debut in 1959. With over a hundred career choices, she's been everything from a rock star to a paleontologist. Computer Engineer is the first Barbie career chosen by online voting. What I like most about Computer Engineer Barbie is what she represents -- that nerdy girls can combine femininity with their ability to excel in math, science, and engineering... very much like my motivation for creating Nerdy Girl Makeup. :D Read more... -
Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge
Posted on February 7, 2011 | 6 CommentsI am now a proud owner of a Cricut Expression Machine -- a much larger version than the other Cricut personal electronic cutting machines. My fiancé actually gave it to me as a gift, since he knows I love arts and crafts (in addition to makeup, of course). I got the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge filled with a variety of adorable images and phrases. Take a look at my first little project using this cartridge -- a Hello Kitty Valentine! Bear and Bee Measuring Tape
Posted on November 29, 2010 | Leave a CommentI wrote about a flower pot measuring tape last month, and now I found another kind to add to what seems to be a growing collection of cute measuring instruments. The bear is nicely detailed with a cute bead nose, eyelashes, and a polka-dot bow. There's a bee that sits right on top of the bear's head. When you're ready to measure something, just pull the bee away from the bear to reveal the measuring tape! Read more...
