Fashion Friday: Chanel Ballerinas Quilted Flats

I'm not one to splurge a lot on shoes (purses are my weakness), but on my way out of Nordstrom these flats caught my eye. I saw a similar black quilting like my latest purse from a distance, so I had to take a closer look. I immediately fell in love with these but not with the price, so I left them at the store but they never left my mind. This is a fun, casual outfit that I plan to wear during the day on Valentine's Day. I layered a knit pullover sweater over a sheer white polka dot slip dress. The soft peach color of the sweater is a nice change from the usual Valentine pinks and reds. I initially got this slip dress in blue, and I liked it so much that I got one in white. There are lots of ways to wear it (as a slip, dress, tunic, swimsuit cover up, etc.) -- it's such a cute layering piece for all seasons. Read more...

Sparkly Black Smokey Eye Look

Although I like how Chanel Illusion d'Ombre Long Wear Eyeshadow in "Mirifique" looks as a sparkly eye liner, this glamorous black smokey eye is how I envisioned using Mirifique all along. The sparkle is like no other black eye shadow I've come across, and there are no fallout thanks to its unique formula that combines the best qualities of gel (long wearing/doesn't budge once set), cream (thickness/color intensity), and mousse (lightweight/easy to blend)! I saw this Free People Fancy Lace Dress on display and was drawn to the cute details that enhance this nude-colored dress. There are silver metallic foil embellishments that look like tiny silver flowers/leaves stamped all over the fabric. I adore the ruffle trim at the hem as well. Since it has a plunging V-neckline, I wore a sheer black chiffon blouse underneath for a more conservative look. The tie at the neck of this blouse instantly adds a cute bow to any outfit! :) Read more...
