Mineralize Blue and Brown Look
Posted on October 10, 2011 | 5 CommentsI didn't buy any of the new Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos that MAC released in May 2011, but I own a few of the previous ones. My favorite of the duos by far is still "Sea and Sky". Along with a marbleized sky blue color, "Sea and Sky" comes with a gorgeous medium-to-dark blue that has such an intense, rich color. This is the blue featured in this makeup look. The steps are similar to my technique for adding a pop of color to your eye shadow if you want to follow along. :) Read more... -
Brown and Gold-Green Duochrome Look
Posted on September 19, 2011 | 6 CommentsThis is my first makeup look using one of the Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadows that I recently reviewed. I applied "84" pigment wet to intensify this gold with green duochrome color. Duochromes shift between two different colors depending on the way light hits them -- in these pictures, the light hits my center lid and really brings out the gold-green in that area. Read more... -
Neutral Eye with Dramatic Liner Look
Posted on September 5, 2011 | 2 CommentsAs I mentioned in my Technique post on how to create winged/cat eyeliner, I usually like wearing a single wash of a neutral color on my entire lid when I wear dramatic liner. That way the liner is the focus of the eye makeup as it really stands out against a simple background. However, dramatic liners can look nice with more eye shadow colors too. Here's a look using a few shimmery neutral colors with a thicker, longer wing. Read more... -
Urban Decay Naked Palette Look 4
Posted on August 10, 2011 | 2 CommentsHere's another easy makeup look you can try with your Naked Palette! This makeup look features two matte colors in the palette -- Naked (buff matte) and Buck (brown matte). These matte colors can be easily overlooked with all the gorgeous shimmery ones in the palette, so I wanted to create a look showcasing them both. I lined my upper lash line with a dark brown color (Darkhorse, which is also in the palette) for a softer effect, since I wore this makeup during the day. Read more... -
Urban Decay Naked Palette Look 3
Posted on July 25, 2011 | 4 CommentsThis is a daytime look I came up with using the Naked Palette. I featured two colors that I haven't used in my other Naked Palette looks -- Buck (brown matte) and Smog (golden brown shimmer). The highlight color isn't from the palette though (I mentioned in my review that I wish there were more highlight colors in the palette), so I used one from MAC just for some variety on my Naked Palette Look series. You can just use Virgin as highlight to keep all the colors from the palette. Read more...
