    Mattify! Cosmetics + Look

Mattify! Cosmetics focuses on creating products for oily skin. I recently received five of their Long Lasting Sparkling Eye Shadows and Mattify! Bronzer for review. These and other Mattify! Cosmetic products contain Kaolin clay, an ingredient known for its oil absorbing quality. I incorporated all the products in a makeup look. Check out the swatches and my thoughts on these items! Fall Orange and Brown Makeup Look

I used MAC Pigment in "Copper Sparkle" in my Fall Makeup Look from last year, but this time I applied it on top of a much brighter orange to really bring out the color. The resulting burnt orange color stands out a lot more than the orange MAC "Rule" eye shadow I used in the previous look. Mineralize Blue and Brown Look

I didn't buy any of the new Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos that MAC released in May 2011, but I own a few of the previous ones. My favorite of the duos by far is still "Sea and Sky". The steps are similar to my technique for adding a pop of color to your eye shadow if you want to follow along. :) Read more...

    Brown and Gold-Green Duochrome Look

This is my first makeup look using one of the Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadows that I recently reviewed. I applied "84" pigment wet to intensify this gold with green duochrome color. Duochromes shift between two different colors depending on the way light hits them -- in these pictures, the light hits my center lid and really brings out the gold-green in that area. Read more...

Neutral Eye with Dramatic Liner Look

As I mentioned in my Technique post on how to create winged/cat eyeliner, I usually like wearing a single wash of a neutral color on my entire lid when I wear dramatic liner. That way the liner is the focus of the eye makeup as it really stands out against a simple background. However, dramatic liners can look nice with more eye shadow colors too. Here's a look using a few shimmery neutral colors with a thicker, longer wing. Read more...
