  • BFTE Cosmetics + Look - January 18th, 2012
  • I recently had the opportunity to try out several mineral eye shadows from Beauty From The Earth. Crystal, President of BFTE Cosmetics, sent me this 16-piece sample set that comes with a tin case. Each sample comes with 0.5g of product. These samples actually last quite a while if you like to experiment with different color combinations like I do. :) Check out the swatches and a makeup look using 5 of these colors!

  • Colorful Bright Makeup Look - November 2nd, 2011
  • This makeup look uses some of my favorite bright eye shadows: Make Up For Ever “75″ (neon pink), Make Up For Ever “18″ (vibrant orange), and MAC “Electric Eel” (bright blue). Applying the pink and blue eye shadows next to each other creates a bright purple color where they are blended. In addition to lining my lower water line with a black kohl pencil, I also lined the outer edge of the lower waterline with a blue kohl pencil so that some blue peeks through the black.

  • Yellow, Green, and Purple Look - August 24th, 2011
  • This is a makeup look I came up with when I was in Hawaii last month. I’ve worn it a couple times since then, because it’s a fun colorful look with a dash of glitter! The glitter was a last minute decision that I added after I had already put my eye shadow, liner, and mascara. I like how it gives just enough sparkle to your eye makeup without taking away from all the pretty colors.

  • Green, Orange, and Blue Look - August 3rd, 2011
  • For this colorful makeup look, I felt like using a combination of some of my favorite eye shadow brands — Inglot, Make Up For Ever, and MAC. I wore it with a bright orange lipstick to bring out the little bit of orange I used on my lid. Alternatively, you can wear a nude lip or a lighter coral lip color to keep the focus of all the bright, bold colors only on your eyes.

  • Sunset Beach Makeup Look - July 11th, 2011
  • This makeup look was inspired by sun setting on a beach, when the sky lights up in orange hues that contrasts the blue ocean horizon. I used two shades of orange on the lid — a lighter shimmer and a darker matte. The shimmer next to the matte color creates a glistening effect. I applied a bright blue eye shadow on the lower lash line to represent the ocean.
