Lucky Star Makeup Look
Posted on February 2, 2013 | 2 CommentsI've been incorporating stars in some of my nighttime makeup looks ever since I got my hands on "Good Luck Star" stencils from the MAC & Carine Roitfeld Collection. I like to change up the quantity, placement, and colors of the stars, but for this look I just stuck to the 2 different-sized stars that come in one stencil, only applied it next to my left eye, and used black for both stars. I like the perfect star shape the stencil provides, but I think it would be just as cute to freehand it! Read more... -
Sparkly Gold, Brown, and Black Makeup Look
Posted on August 2, 2012 | 4 CommentsI've always been a big fan of shimmery gold eye shadow (even my very first MAC eye shadow was a limited edition gold called "Bagatelle"), so I was really excited when I came across Chanel Illusion d'Ombre Long Wear Eyeshadow in "89 Vision" when I was in Germany earlier this month. Vision is jam-packed with gold sparkle that can be used to create a very bold gold look as well as just to add something special to an everyday look, like I did in today's makeup look. :) Read more... -
Gold, Brown, and Teal Makeup Look
Posted on February 22, 2012 | 13 CommentsWhile I was coming up with this eye makeup, I decided to add some teal in an unexpected place. The teal stands out in pictures and in person, especially since the rest of the eye shadows are neutral, but it's still pretty subtle at the same time. I used my new Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in "Siren" -- a beautiful teal with blue shift. I applied it along the outer half of my lower lash line. I added MAC "Electric Eel" on top of it to make the liquid liner look blended out. Read more... -
Blue and Gold Liner Look
Posted on November 19, 2011 | 6 CommentsI'll be cheering for Cal to win the 114th Big Game at Stanford Stadium today. Although Stanford is ranked in the Top 10 and Cal is once again the underdog, I'm always decked out in Cal blue and gold -- including my makeup! :D I came up with this very quick makeup look that's simple but does the job of showing off my school spirit. I used Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners in "Radium" (bright blue with silver sparkle) and "El Dorado" (yellow gold with gold sparkle). GO BEARS! Read more... -
Mattify! Cosmetics + Look
Posted on October 31, 2011 | 4 CommentsMattify! Cosmetics focuses on creating products for oily skin. I recently received five of their Long Lasting Sparkling Eye Shadows and Mattify! Bronzer for review. These and other Mattify! Cosmetic products contain Kaolin clay, an ingredient known for its oil absorbing quality. I incorporated all the products in a makeup look. Check out the swatches and my thoughts on these items! Read more...
