Brown and Gold-Green Duochrome Look
Posted on September 19, 2011 | 6 CommentsThis is my first makeup look using one of the Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadows that I recently reviewed. I applied "84" pigment wet to intensify this gold with green duochrome color. Duochromes shift between two different colors depending on the way light hits them -- in these pictures, the light hits my center lid and really brings out the gold-green in that area. Read more... -
White, Gold, and Purple EOTD
Posted on September 12, 2011 | 33 CommentsReader Maria sent me a request for an eye makeup look that she can wear with her formal eggplant purple dress for an Air Force ball. Since she mentioned that she prefers eye shadow that isn't too smokey, I came up with this look that uses neutral colors with a little pop of purple to tie in the color of her dress. I wanted to keep the overall look light but still dramatic for a nighttime look. I also added gold to this look, since gold really stands out with purple. Here's how to do this Eye of the Day! Brown with Gold Glitter Look
Posted on March 23, 2011 | 7 CommentsI used Inglot eye shadows from the Freedom System neutral palette I put together when I visited Inglot's London location back in November. I also used MAC "Reflects Antique Gold" glitter to add some sparkle to the look. I added the glitter after I finished applying all of my eye shadow -- water-based mixing medium helps the glitter stay on the lid! Read more... -
Dark Gray and Gold Look
Posted on March 7, 2011 | 6 CommentsThe gold color I used in this look is MAC Pigment in "Old Gold” (frosted tarnished gold). This is a gorgeous shade of gold -- like a yellow gold with some green. I've used this pigment in a previous look with green and brown pigments. I wanted to see how it would look paired with dark gray, so this is how it turned out! Read more... -
Sephora: Urban Decay “Beauty in a Box” + Look
Posted on February 2, 2011 | 4 CommentsUrban Decay "Beauty in a Box" is a limited edition makeup set that's exclusive to Sephora. This set (valued at $91) came out a few months ago for $52, but it is now on sale for $39. I picked up a box when I saw the lower price at my nearby Sephora store last week. It comes with 2 of my favorite full-sized glitter liners as well as a full-sized Sin Primer Potion and some other goodies. Here's a glittery makeup look using all the products from this set!
