Orange and Dark Gray Look + Pumpkin Festival!
Posted on October 24, 2011 | 4 CommentsI always look forward to the Art and Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay, CA every year. Aside from all the yummy pumpkin-themed food and crafts, it's the one day in the year that I put on my pumpkin beret -- an orange hat with green stem. :) I usually come up with a makeup look with orange in it to match my hat. This year I paired orange with dark gray eye shadow (instead of black so it's not too Halloween-y). Check out pictures of the makeup and festival! Read more... -
Half-Wild Purple Makeup Look
Posted on September 28, 2011 | Leave a CommentThis is my first makeup look using the MAC Limited Edition Paint Pot in "Half-Wild" that I just reviewed. I used Half-Wild as a base on my lid to make the Inglot purple eye shadow I applied on top much bolder. I decided to add a light gray color to the purple eye makeup to match a gray and purple dress I was wearing that day, but I also like how the purple stands out even more against the matte gray. Gray, Brown, and White Look
Posted on May 11, 2011 | 32 CommentsFor this look, I applied a shimmery white eye shadow on my lid just below my crease and surrounded it with dark brown and gray colors. The contrast created by using light and dark colors makes this a dramatic nighttime look. I applied a bright pop of color on my lips to make them stand out. I used Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics OCC Lip Tar in "Harlot" -- it's a gorgeous vibrant cherry red with a coral undertone. Read more... -
Pastel Colors with Gray Look
Posted on April 18, 2011 | 4 CommentsWith Easter coming up on Sunday, I felt like creating a pastel makeup look with a twist. I surrounded some pastel colors with gray, because it made me think of winter transitioning into spring. For the pastel colors, I used soft blue and pink on my lid and then blended them where they meet to create a light pastel purple shade. I finished the look with a rich violet lip color to tie in the purple eye shadow blend. Read more... -
Dark Gray and Gold Look
Posted on March 7, 2011 | 6 CommentsThe gold color I used in this look is MAC Pigment in "Old Gold” (frosted tarnished gold). This is a gorgeous shade of gold -- like a yellow gold with some green. I've used this pigment in a previous look with green and brown pigments. I wanted to see how it would look paired with dark gray, so this is how it turned out! Read more...
