Lancôme Glamour Eyes by Michelle Phan + EOTD
Posted on January 24, 2012 | 4 CommentsYouTube makeup guru and Lancôme video makeup artist Michelle Phan put together this Lancôme Glamour Eyes kit that's exclusively sold at Sephora. I had plans to try out the Lancôme Artliner Eyeliner sometime, so I figured I'd just buy this kit since it comes with a full-size Artliner in "Noir" as well as a Color Design All-In-One 5 Shadow and Line Palette called "307 Chic by Chelle" and a travel-size Hypnôse Drama Mascara. Check out my swatches, EOTD, and reasons why I returned it. Read more... -
Christmas Tree Makeup Look
Posted on December 14, 2011 | 8 CommentsI've been making mix CDs for my mom ever since I got my first CD burner sometime in the 90s. One of my favorites is a Christmas mix that has a song about a lonely Christmas tree. My mom really liked this song after hearing it once on the radio, but she didn't know most of the lyrics. I eventually surprised her with it in my mix CD. This makeup look is inspired by Stevie Wonder's "One Little Christmas Tree" -- it has a little tree standing in the snow lighting up a gray sky with its gold star. :) Read more... -
“For Effect” Gray and Pink Look
Posted on November 16, 2011 | 8 CommentsThis is the first makeup look I came up with using MAC Limited Edition Paint Pot in "For Effect" (see my review). To make the Inglot gray eye shadow bolder and to add more sparkle to the lid, I used For Effect first as a base on my lid and then applied the eye shadow on top of it. I also applied a matte pink eye shadow to tie in the new MAC "Rebel" lipstick I just bought. :) Read more... -
Snowy Winter Makeup Look
Posted on December 15, 2010 | 7 CommentsThis makeup look was inspired by the white snow and gray skies of winter that I rarely get to see (here in California). I incorporated the white and gray colors of a picture my friend Winnie captured of a snowy winter day into this makeup look. To keep the focus on the eye shadow, I did not use any blush on my cheeks. Any brighter lip color would shift the focus away from the eyes as well, so I used a coral lipstick that's pretty close to my natural lip color. Read more... -
Black, Pink, and Silver Look
Posted on November 3, 2010 | 9 CommentsThis is a fun nighttime look with a pop of bright pink on the lid and on the lips. Most of the eye shadows I used in this look are shimmery, because shimmer looks great at night. I balanced the shimmery colors with a matte black color that also creates depth on the crease and outer V. Read more...
