Yellow, Green, and Purple Look
Posted on August 24, 2011 | 2 CommentsThis is a makeup look I came up with when I was in Hawaii last month. I've worn it a couple times since then, because it's a fun colorful look with a dash of glitter! The glitter was a last minute decision that I added after I had already put my eye shadow, liner, and mascara. I like how it gives just enough sparkle to your eye makeup without taking away from all the pretty colors. Read more... -
Bright Green and Yellow Look
Posted on May 31, 2011 | 6 CommentsTry this fun, bright look on a sunny day out to the beach or a picnic in the park. There are bright pops of yellow and green on the inner and outer part of the lid. I used a paler green color on the center lid as a transition between the two vibrant colors. I also applied eye pencils in a darker green and a gold along the lower lash line to complete the look. Yellow, Copper, and Teal EOTD
Posted on March 28, 2011 | 6 CommentsFor this Eye of the Day, I kept the eye shadow colors on the lid warm (a matte yellow and a shimmery copper), and I used a cool color (teal) to add a subtle pop of color on the lower waterline. As I've mentioned in previous posts, orange and blue are complementary colors -- two colors directly opposite from each other on the color wheel. Since copper is a type of orange color, I intentionally used teal (a form of blue) to add complementary contrast to the look. Read more... -
Yellow and Brown with Blue Glitter EOTD
Posted on December 4, 2010 | 4 CommentsHere's one way to combine subtle glitter to your eye makeup -- on top of your eyeliner! Apply a glitter liquid liner on top of a dark eyeliner to really bring out the color(s) of the glitter. For this Eye of the Day, I used a matte black gel liner with a sparkly blue glitter liquid liner. This is my first time using Barry M Glitter Liquid Eyeliner (love it!), but I'm also a big fan of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner. Read more... -
Cal Football Makeup EOTD
Posted on November 20, 2010 | 6 CommentsToday is the 113th Big Game where college rivals Cal and Stanford meet annually for a highly anticipated game of football. :) I'm going to the game, so I came up with a makeup look to match my school colors -- Yale Blue (a dark blue color defined as the color of light with a 482-nm wavelength... yes, very nerdy) and California Gold. The bear on my face is Oski, the official mascot of the University of California, Berkeley. Read more...
